What it is for

Money runs out not when there is no profit, but when payments arrive before receipts. A payment calendar shows such a day in advance: you enter the expected receipts and payments, and the spreadsheet calculates the balance at the end of each day.

What is inside

  • "Settings": balance, start date, minimum balance, categories.
  • "Transactions": up to 800 planned and actual transactions with a paid status.
  • "Calendar": 120 days, inflow, outflow, balance, a "Cash gap" alert and a chart.
  • "Categories": plan, actual and variance by category.

Who it is for

Business owners, finance people and bookkeepers in small companies, sole traders with payroll and rent: anyone who worries about a cash gap.

What you get

The download includes a blank template and a filled-in sample with fictitious data, so you can see how the formulas and checks work. It is an Excel spreadsheet with ordinary formulas, not an accounting program. All fixes and new versions of the project are free.

Compatibility

Excel 2007 and later, LibreOffice. No macros. The file is in English. Thresholds are set in the settings: adjust them to your business. Calculations are approximate.
