What it is for

Expired medicines in the first aid kit are a common problem at home, in the office and in a nurse's room. The template stores the medicines, stock and expiry dates, highlights those about to expire and builds the lists for disposal and purchase by itself.

What is inside

  • “Medicines”: name, form, quantity, minimum stock, expiry date.
  • “Usage”: records of packs used.
  • “Discard”: medicines past their expiry date.
  • “Restock”: medicines with stock below the minimum, plus a summary.

Compatibility

Excel 2007 and newer, LibreOffice. No macros. The file is in English. Warning periods and minimum stocks are set in the parameters; adjust them to your situation. The template does not replace medical documentation.

Questions and answers

Is this medical software?
No, it is a tracking spreadsheet. It contains no dosages or prescriptions; consult a doctor on treatment.
How is stock calculated?
Stock = quantity received minus usage from the Usage sheet.
When is a medicine considered expiring?
When fewer days remain until the expiry date than set in Settings.
Can I print the lists?
Yes, the Discard and Restock sheets are ready to print.
Are macros needed?
No. The file works in Excel 2007 and newer and in LibreOffice, and all calculations use ordinary formulas.
