What it is for

Subscriptions for video, music, cloud storage, fitness and apps quietly add up to a large sum, and charges arrive unexpectedly. The workbook gathers all your subscriptions in one place, calculates spending per month and per year, warns about upcoming charges and shows where most of the money goes.

What is inside

  • “Settings”: report date, how many days ahead to warn, categories and billing periods.
  • “Subscriptions”: up to 60 subscriptions — cost, period, next charge date, status (active, paused, cancelled).
  • “Summary”: spending per month and per year, upcoming charges, shares by category, a chart.

Who it is for

Anyone with several paid subscriptions and services: families, students, freelancers and small businesses with team tools.

What you get

An empty template and a filled-in sample with fictitious data, so you can see how the formulas and checks work. It is an Excel template built on ordinary formulas, not a special program. All fixes and new versions of the project are free.

Compatibility

Excel 2007 and later, LibreOffice. No macros. Intervals and thresholds are kept in settings: adjust them to suit you. The file is in English.

Questions and answers

Which billing periods are supported?
Month, quarter, half-year and year. The list of periods is in “Settings”.
How is the monthly cost calculated?
The subscription cost is divided by the number of months in the period. Only subscriptions with the status “Active” are counted.
Does the workbook collect payments or only remind me?
It does not collect anything. It highlights the approaching date that you entered. The charges themselves are made by your service.
How many subscriptions fit?
Up to 60.
Do I need macros?
No. The file works in Excel 2007 and later and in LibreOffice, and all calculations use ordinary formulas.
